What types of database queries do we have?

Main types of database queries:

• SELECT — data retrieval query.
• INSERT — adding new records.
• UPDATE — updating existing records.
• DELETE — deleting records.
• DDL (Data Definition Language) — queries for defining the database structure, for example:
  • CREATE (creating tables, indexes, etc.)
  • ALTER (modifying structure)
  • DROP (deleting objects)
• DCL (Data Control Language) — managing access rights, for example GRANT and REVOKE.
• TCL (Transaction Control Language) — managing transactions, for example COMMIT, ROLLBACK.

Each type of query performs its role in working with data and the database structure.
