Changelog

All updates and improvements to Sobes Copilot in chronological order.

v2.21.0

Option statuses have been moved out of the overlay window

Previously, the only way to see what was currently enabled (write protection disabled, click-through, virtual cursor) was to look at the overlay. And if the overlay was hidden, there was no way to tell at all.

Separate HUD Indicators

  • Now the statuses are displayed in a HUD window in the corner of the screen, separate from the overlay. It shows only what is actually enabled and doesn’t disappear when you hide the overlay with a hotkey. The window itself isn’t included in recordings or replays—only you can see it.

You Can Choose the Position

  • In Settings → Window, you can choose the corner: four corners plus the top and bottom center. Place it wherever is convenient.

Added Cursor Protection

The overlay had an annoying leak: the cursor itself gave it away. Let’s say you’re in a code editor where the cursor takes up almost the entire screen. Hover your mouse over the overlay, and instead of the cursor, you see a regular arrow. This is very noticeable in the demo: there’s a cursor all around, but for some reason there’s an arrow in one spot, even though the window itself isn’t visible in the recording.

What the protection does

  • The cursor over the overlay now mimics the shape of what lies beneath it. In the same editor, it will remain a cursor over the overlay, but will be a regular arrow over an empty background. From the outside, it’s impossible to tell that anything is there at all. At the same time, the overlay remains clickable: clicks land on it rather than falling through to the application underneath. For everything under the overlay, it’s as if the window isn’t even there. But the overlay still captures clicks.

Hotkey

  • Toggles on and off with ⌘/Cmd+Shift+Z; you can remap this combination in the hotkey settings.

“Always On” Option

  • If you don’t want to press the hotkey every time, go to Settings → Mouse and Cursor, where you’ll find a toggle: protection will turn on automatically every time you open the overlay.

  • Also: the protection feature doesn’t work well with click-through and the virtual cursor, as they share the same mechanism. Enable one, and the other will turn off automatically; when you switch it back, the protection will be restored.

📄 Export interviews to PDF

You can now export your interviews to PDF.

What you can save:

  • Interview summary — overall score, strengths and areas to improve, recommendations, competency map, and a breakdown of every question with scores and reference answers.
  • Interview transcript — the full conversation: audio transcription (interviewer / you), your questions, and the assistant's answers with formatting and code blocks.

Especially handy if you're preparing with a mentor: send the PDF with the breakdown, and on the call you go through the weak spots together instead of recalling from memory how the interview went.

Reworked the interview summary

The summary used to just list questions and three scores. Now it is a full breakdown that shows exactly what to improve.

  • Strengths, growth areas and recommendations — tied to your actual answers, not generic advice.
  • Reference answers — key missed points and a model answer under each question.
  • Competency map — every topic is tagged with a proficiency level (strong / medium / weak).
  • Interview-type aware — technical, system design, behavioral or HR are detected automatically, with matching scoring criteria.
  • Fair scoring — questions you did not answer yourself are no longer penalized with zeros.

Добавили указание вакансии

Теперь при создании встречи можно вставить ссылку на вакансию.

  • Sobes Copilot

v2.20.0

We've added a built-in interview recording feature

One of the most common questions we receive from support is whether users can get a full audio/video file of the interview after the meeting.

Now you can: the recording starts directly from the app and captures the screen, system audio, and microphone.

This was a particularly common request from mentors who need to review the entire call later, analyze the answers, or share the recording.

Previously, this required setting up OBS or another recorder separately, which isn’t always convenient during an interview.

Recordings are stored entirely locally on your computer, are not uploaded anywhere, and are available in the meeting preview under the “Recordings” tab.

System Design mode can now be enabled whenever needed.

We removed mode selection from the meeting creation form.

If you need to switch to System Design during a session, enable the mode with the button in the meeting interface. Need to return to the interview? Disable it there as well. You can switch at any time without recreating the meeting.

When System Design is enabled, the system instructions and available tools change, so answers are tailored for architecture design rather than a classic interview.

We recommend creating a new subchat when switching modes.

Additional fixes: • Fixed System Design text sometimes not fitting fully inside cards. • Fixed text on System Design arrows overlapping with other arrows and cards.

Updated notes and RAG search over them

Added PDF import You can now upload PDF files to notes. The system extracts text from the document and saves it as a regular note.

Improved RAG search AI now filters out irrelevant notes faster and selects context for answers more accurately. Search is faster, more stable, and pulls in less unnecessary noise.

Disabling notes from RAG Each note now has a toggle that controls whether it should be used in RAG.

Added context creation from a resume

Previously, properly setting up a context required filling out many fields manually: role, stack, experience, level, response format, naturalness, and so on.

Create from resume

  1. Upload a PDF / TXT / MD resume
  2. Choose response naturalness
  3. Sobes Copilot generates a draft context automatically

The context is not saved automatically, so you can review the result, adjust the details, and only then click "Save".

Released context testing in Sobes Copilot

Everyone understands that a well-configured context is 50% of success when using the assistant.

But previously, checking how the model would behave with a specific role, stack, and response rules was not very convenient: you had to enter a meeting and test it there.

Now you can test a context directly in settings.

Context testing

  • Added a "Test" button to the context editor. A chat opens on the right where you can send your own interviewer question.
  • You can generate a question automatically. It takes into account the role, level, technologies, and other context settings.
  • The model can be switched the same way as in a meeting.
