A business analyst is the link between the customer (business) and the development team. Their main task is to understand the business needs, formalize them, and communicate them to the technical team in an understandable way.

What should a business analyst do:

• Gather and analyze requirements from stakeholders.
• Conduct interviews, workshops, and discussions to identify real needs.
• Describe requirements in the form of specifications, user stories, and business processes.
• Participate in clarifying and prioritizing requirements.
• Control compliance of the implemented solution with requirements.

The output for a business analyst should be:

• Clearly documented and agreed requirements.
• Documentation understandable to both the business and developers.
• A map of business processes or models, if necessary.

The main goal is to ensure understanding between the business and technical team, minimize the risks of incorrect implementation, and increase the value of the final product.
