What is the ratio of business to system analysis in your work?

In my work, the ratio of business to systems analysis depends on the project stage and the specifics of the task. Usually, I start with business analysis — studying the client's goals and needs, identifying key business processes, and forming high-level requirements. Then I move on to systems analysis — detailing requirements, modeling architecture, describing component interactions, and preparing technical specifications for developers.

Approximately 40% of the time is spent on business analysis, and 60% on systems analysis. But in some projects, where requirements are already well-developed, I may focus mainly on systems analysis. It is important to be able to switch flexibly between roles to ensure both understanding of business goals and technical feasibility of the solution.
