How capable are you of independently hypothesizing when immersed in a business problem?

The ability to independently formulate hypotheses when diving into a business problem is a key skill for a Product Manager. This includes:

• Analyzing available data and understanding the context of the problem.
• Formulating assumptions about causes and possible solutions.
• Testing hypotheses through experiments, A/B tests, or gathering feedback.

For example, if a decrease in app conversion is observed, I might hypothesize that the reason is an inconvenient interface at the checkout stage. Then, I would suggest conducting user testing or launching an experiment with a modified design to test this hypothesis.

Thus, independently formulating hypotheses helps to find effective solutions faster and improve the product based on data and logic, rather than just intuition or external directives.
