What is a contextual interview?

Contextual interview is a qualitative research method where the interviewer observes and asks questions to the user directly at the moment of using the product or in a real environment where interaction with the product occurs. The goal is to understand the user's behavior, motivations, and problems in natural conditions, not in an artificial setting.

For example, if an application for task management is being developed, the interviewer may observe how the user works with current tools, ask questions about their actions and problems right during the work. This helps identify real needs and improve the product.
