What is percent complete?

Percent complete — this is a metric in project management that shows what part of the work on a task or project has already been completed. In the context of Earned Value Management (EVM), percent complete helps determine how the actual progress compares to the plan.

For example, if a task consists of 10 steps and 5 are completed, then percent complete will be 50%. This value is used to calculate earned value and assess deviations in time and budget.
