What is a burn-up chart?

A burn-up chart is a graph that shows the progress of a project or task over time. The X-axis represents time (e.g., days or sprints), and the Y-axis shows the amount of work completed and the total amount of work. The chart displays two lines: one shows the cumulative amount of work completed, and the other shows the total work, which can change (for example, when new requirements are added).

This tool helps visually track how much the team is progressing towards completing the project and observe changes in the scope of work. Unlike a burn-down chart, a burn-up chart shows the growth of completed work and accounts for changes in the scope of tasks.
