If Kafka crashes, what happens to event sending?

If Kafka goes down, sending events to it becomes impossible, and messages will not be delivered to the broker. Depending on the client implementation and settings, events can:

• Be buffered locally until the connection is restored.
• Be lost if there is no retry mechanism.

In embedded/IoT systems, a local buffer or queue is usually implemented to temporarily store events and send them when Kafka is available again. This helps prevent data loss during short-term network or broker failures.
