In Android development, inline functions are especially useful in Kotlin for optimizing performance and simplifying code.

Inline functions allow the compiler to insert the body of the function directly at the call site, reducing the overhead of function calls, especially when using lambda expressions.

Example of using an inline function in Kotlin:

inline fun performOperation(operation: () -> Unit) {
    println("Before operation")
    operation()
    println("After operation")
}

fun main() {
    performOperation {
        println("Executing operation")
    }
}

In my experience, inline functions helped reduce the number of objects created and improved performance, especially in places with frequent calls to functions with lambdas, such as working with collections or event handlers.
