What do the letters in RACI stand for?

RACI is a responsibility matrix that helps clearly define the roles of participants in a project or process:

• R (Responsible) — the person responsible for completing the task, who directly does the work.
• A (Accountable) — the person responsible for the outcome, who makes the final decision and is accountable to management.
• C (Consulted) — an expert consulted for advice or information.
• I (Informed) — the person kept informed about the progress of the task but does not participate directly.

This model helps avoid ambiguities and role duplication within the team.
