What do you consider the most important question when interviewing a client?

The most important question during a client interview, I believe, is: "What are your key business goals and what problems do you want to solve with this project?"

This question helps to understand what is truly important for the client, what tasks the system should accomplish, and what success criteria are. Without understanding the business goals, technical solutions may be ineffective or not meet expectations.

For example, if the goal is to increase order processing speed, then the system design should focus on performance and scalability. If data security is important, then the emphasis will be on protection and access control.
