What proportions between practical coding and managerial tasks are assumed in your current role?

The ratio between practical coding and managerial tasks depends on the role and level of the specialist.

For junior and mid-level developers, practical coding usually dominates — about 70–90% of the time is spent on writing and testing code, with the rest on communication, planning, and team meetings.

As you grow and move into team lead or managerial roles, the share of managerial tasks increases — planning, task distribution, quality control, and interaction with other teams can take 50% or more of working time.

In my current role, I try to balance these tasks to maintain technical expertise and manage processes effectively.
