What is Lean?

Lean is a management and process optimization methodology aimed at minimizing waste and increasing value for the customer. The main idea of Lean is to eliminate everything that does not add value to the final product or service, whether it is unnecessary operations, waiting time, excess inventory, or defects.

In project management, Lean helps improve quality and efficiency through:

Example: in manufacturing, Lean may mean reducing equipment changeover time to switch between products more quickly and avoid downtime.
