Tell me about the system you worked with (POS, KDS, kiosks)

In one of my projects, I worked with a POS system for the restaurant industry. It included an interface for cashiers, integration with KDS (Kitchen Display System) for transmitting orders to the kitchen, and support for self-service kiosks.

The POS system allowed for quick order creation, payment processing, and discount management. The KDS displayed orders on kitchen screens in real-time, speeding up processing and reducing errors.

Self-service kiosks were connected to the POS via API, enabling customers to place orders independently, which were immediately sent to the system. This reduced staff workload and increased service speed.

An important part was the synchronization of data between all components to avoid order and status desynchronization. Analytics on sales and kitchen load were also implemented.
