What are your steps if a task in a new topic comes as an abstract task?

When an abstract task in a new topic comes up, I start by studying the context and goals of the task. First, I clarify with the client or stakeholders what exactly is required, what constraints and expectations exist. Then I conduct research on the topic: I read documentation, articles, look at examples and analogs.

Next, I break down the task into smaller subtasks to understand what specific steps need to be taken. If necessary, I consult with experts in the field. After that, I develop an action plan and start implementation, regularly checking against requirements and adjusting the approach as I receive new information.
