If I realize I am not meeting the deadline, I first assess the remaining work and the reasons for the delay. Then I inform the interested parties (management, team, client) about the situation, and propose solutions: redistributing tasks, prioritizing, increasing resources, or reducing the scope. It is important to propose a realistic new plan and agree on it. I also analyze what caused the delay to prevent it from happening again in the future.
