What steps do you take if you know you won't have enough time to complete a task?

If I realize that I am not going to complete a task on time, I act as follows:

1. I assess how much time is realistically needed to complete it.
2. I inform my supervisor or team about the possible delay as early as possible to adjust plans.
3. I suggest solutions: for example, prioritizing part of the task, dividing it into stages, or seeking help.
4. I try to optimize the process — eliminate unnecessary steps, automate routine parts.
5. I keep transparent track of progress so that everyone is aware of the current status of the task.

This approach helps minimize negative consequences and maintain trust within the team.
