What do you understand by adaptability in the context of teamwork?

Adaptability in a team for me is the ability to respond flexibly to changes:

• Changing priorities: Quickly reorganize for new tasks and deadlines.
• Changing requirements: Adapt testing strategies and test cases when functionality or design changes.
• Changing tools/processes: Master new technologies, frameworks, development or testing methodologies (e.g., transition from Waterfall to Agile).
• Changing team composition: Easily integrate with new team members and help them settle in.
• Changing work environment: Quickly adapt to new working conditions (remote, hybrid, office).
• Feedback: Openly accept constructive criticism and use it to improve your work and team processes.

For a QA specialist, this means not only technical flexibility (quick mastery of new automation tools, understanding new architecture), but also communication skills: the ability to effectively interact with developers, analysts, managers during any changes, timely provide information, and adapt testing scope.

Example: An urgent need arises to release a hotfix. An adaptive QA quickly switches from current tasks, prioritizes testing only critical functionality for the hotfix, possibly automates new regression tests for it in compressed timelines, and effectively interacts with the team to ensure a faster and safer release.
