How did you release — upon readiness or according to schedule?

Releases can be conducted in two main ways:

• On-demand — the release occurs immediately after the functionality is ready and tested. This approach is flexible and allows for quick delivery of changes to users.

• Scheduled release — releases happen on predetermined dates and times, for example, weekly or monthly. This is convenient for planning and coordination with other teams.

The choice depends on the team’s processes and project requirements. In Agile, on-demand releases are often preferred, while in more formal or larger projects, scheduled releases are common.
