What is the difference between load testing and stress testing?

Load testing checks how the system performs under expected or typical load to ensure it meets performance requirements. Stress testing, on the other hand, puts the system under extreme load exceeding normal conditions to identify its limits and behavior during failures.

Example:

• Load testing: testing a website with 1000 concurrent users.
• Stress testing: increasing the load to 5000 users to see when and how the system fails.
