What criteria do you use to evaluate deadlines and resources in your role as a developer?

When estimating timelines and resources, I consider the following criteria:

• Task scope: I break down the task into subtasks to understand which parts require more time.
• Implementation complexity: I assess how familiar the technology is and whether there are risks.
• Dependencies: I consider external factors, such as integrations with other services or waiting for data from other teams.
• Experience and skills: I evaluate my own knowledge and the capabilities of the team.
• Time buffer: I add a reserve for unforeseen difficulties.

For example, if I need to implement a new API, I first break the task into design, coding, testing, and documentation, evaluate each part, and sum the time considering the risks.
