What is information architecture?

Information architecture (IA) is the structuring and organization of content, data, and functionality within a product or system in a way that makes it easy for users to find the information they need and interact effectively with the interface.

Main tasks of IA:

• Define the logic of grouping and hierarchy of information.
• Design navigation paths and menus.
• Ensure clarity and predictability of the structure.

Example: In an online store, IA includes dividing products into categories, filters by characteristics, page structure (home, catalog, product card, cart) so that users can quickly orient themselves and find the desired product.

A well-thought-out information architecture improves user experience (UX), reduces cognitive load, and increases the efficiency of interaction with the product.
