What is RACI matrix?

The RACI matrix is a tool for distributing roles and responsibilities in a project or process. The abbreviation RACI stands for:

• Responsible — the person who performs the task.
• Accountable — the person who makes the final decision and is responsible for the result.
• Consulted — those who provide information and are consulted.
• Informed — those who should be aware of the progress and results.

The matrix helps clearly define who is responsible for what, avoid duplication and gaps in responsibilities, improve communication, and resource management.

An example of usage: for each task in a project, the roles of participants are indicated in the table according to R, A, C, I, which facilitates understanding and control.
