What is Scrumban?

Scrumban is a hybrid project management methodology combining elements of Scrum and Kanban. It was developed to merge the structured approach of Scrum with the flexibility of Kanban.

Key features of Scrumban:

• Uses iterations and roles from Scrum, but with a more flexible approach to planning.
• Visualizes work using Kanban boards and limits on work-in-progress (WIP limits).
• Allows teams to adapt to changing requirements without rigid sprints.
• Supports continuous improvement and process optimization.

Example: a team may use sprint planning but also limit the number of tasks in progress and move them across the Kanban board to avoid overload and increase transparency.
