What do you do if you receive a task that exceeds your current responsibilities or authority?

When I receive a task that goes beyond my current responsibilities or authority, I first assess my capabilities and resources to complete the task. If I understand that I can handle the task but need additional approval or knowledge, I consult with my supervisor or more experienced colleagues for advice and confirmation. If the task requires skills I do not possess, I try to quickly learn the necessary materials and tools to perform the work effectively. It is important to maintain communication with the team and management to avoid exceeding responsibilities without proper approval.
