What types of displays and monitors are you familiar with?

There are different types of displays and monitors, which differ in the technology used for image rendering:

• CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) — old electron beam tubes, bulky and heavy.
• LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) — liquid crystal displays, thin and energy-efficient, widely used.
• LED (Light Emitting Diode) — a type of LCD with LED backlighting, providing better brightness and contrast.
• OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) — organic LEDs, each pixel emits light independently, which gives deep black color and high contrast.
• IPS (In-Plane Switching) — a type of LCD with improved viewing angles and color reproduction.
• TN (Twisted Nematic) — a cheaper type of LCD with fast response time, but worse viewing angles.
• Retina and other high-resolution displays — marketing names for displays with very high pixel density.

Each type has its advantages and disadvantages in image quality, power consumption, cost, and response time.
