Was the specification of non-functional requirements from the client discussed in your last project?

In the last project, we discussed non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, security, and fault tolerance. The client specified particular metrics, for example, API response time not exceeding 200 ms, support for 1000 concurrent users, data encryption in the database, and error logging. This helped us to properly plan the architecture, select technologies, and define testing and monitoring criteria.
