How did you measure the development time for typical lists — in hours or in story points?

To estimate the development time of typical lists, I prefer to use story points, as they better reflect the complexity and volume of work, considering uncertainties and technical risks. Story points allow the team to evaluate tasks relative to each other, rather than in absolute hours, which improves planning accuracy.

However, if the project or team is just starting with Agile, sometimes hours are used for a more concrete understanding of deadlines, especially if the customer requires precise timeframes.

Ultimately, story points help flexibly plan sprints and track progress, while hours can be used for detailing and reporting.
