The RPO (Recovery Point Objective) parameter defines the maximum acceptable amount of data loss measured in time. Simply put, it is the time interval between the last backup and the point of failure.

For example, if RPO is set to 1 hour, then in case of a failure, no more than one hour of data will be lost.
