Motivation was maintained thanks to understanding the importance of the product being created for end users and the team. Seeing how your work helps solve real problems inspires doing it well. Also, support from colleagues and regular knowledge sharing encouraged the desire to improve code and architecture. Having clear goals and feedback from managers helped to stay focused and not lose interest in the work.
