The company is hiring a Senior VLA Pre-training Engineer to develop foundation models for humanoid robot behavior. The role covers multimodal model training, distributed infrastructure, simulation validation, and deployment to production robots.

The client is a fast-growing humanoid robotics startup building robots for real industrial environments, including manufacturing, logistics, warehouses, and other large-scale physical operations.
The company has 30,000 pre-orders globally, contracts with a major European industrial manufacturer, and successful pilots with global engineering leaders in automotive and industrial automation.
Responsibilities
- Pre-train and fine-tune VLA models on large-scale multimodal datasets.
- Build and maintain data pipelines for collection, curation, and synthetic data generation.
- Design distributed training infrastructure.
- Validate policies in simulation before real-world deployment.
- Work with simulation engineers, data scientists, and embedded teams.
- Ship models that directly power production robots.
Conditions
Compensation is £150,000–£230,000 gross per year, based on experience.
The position is based in London and is 100% onsite, with daily access to robots, labs, and prototypes.
Relocation support is available up to £8,000, along with Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
