About the project
Bright Data’s Network team builds and operates core backend services that power the company’s networking infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Develop features end to end, from design and implementation to production rollout and ongoing improvements
- Build and maintain high-scale backend services with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and security
- Participate in system design and architecture planning
- Work on network traffic, proxy behavior, request and response handling, and protocol-level edge cases
- Investigate and troubleshoot complex networking issues using Wireshark and similar packet inspection and debugging tools
- Write high-quality, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage
- Participate actively in code reviews
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver solutions
- Continuously learn and apply best practices in backend engineering and networking
Required skills and experience
- 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on backend JavaScript and Node.js development
- Very good understanding of the Node.js event loop, including I/O and CPU-bound workloads, asynchronous patterns, blocking pitfalls, and memory and garbage collection considerations
- Experience building and operating production backend services
- Strong understanding of network protocols and security, including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP/1, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, TLS, and WebSockets
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS and SaaS environments
- Experience debugging production networking issues, including latency, packet loss, connection reuse, and TLS handshakes
- Experience with observability tooling such as logs, metrics, and tracing, as well as incident response and on-call
Work format and compensation
- Full-time position
- Office or remote work
- Office locations in Israel or Cyprus
- Remote work is available except from Russia and Belarus
- Flexible schedule
- Remote compensation: $40–50 per hour
