The client is hiring a Lead Data Engineer based in Poland to design and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Oracle systems. The role supports trading, risk, analytics, and compliance functions in a financial trading environment and includes occasional travel to Kraków.
What You Will Do
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines primarily within Google Cloud Platform.
Develop integration and transformation workflows between cloud data services and on-premise Oracle databases.
Work with trading, risk, and analytics teams to deliver real-time and batch data solutions.
Optimise and monitor data systems supporting latency-sensitive trading applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Provide technical assistance and mentorship to the team while delivering business-critical data projects.
- Ensure data governance, lineage, and compliance with MiFID II, FCA, and other regulatory standards.
- Automate data workflows using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Conditions
The candidate must be based in Poland and open to occasional travel to Kraków if needed.
The end client will provide equipment for the engineer.
The rate is 40 to 42 USD per hour, including taxes.

Additional Advantages
Experience with AWS, regulatory reporting, market data, trade surveillance systems, Apache Airflow, data security practices, or compliance frameworks is advantageous.
GCP certification, such as Professional Data Engineer, is considered a strong advantage.
